iOS DEVELOPER

Public Leaf Inc is a startup that was founded in 2011. Here at Public Leaf our energy is information, information that connects, enhances & facilitates how we interact with, as well as elevate the city we live in. 
Public Leaf is a Digital Public Services company realized within and focused upon Toronto and its neighboring cities. We have all noticed the growing ease with which we rely on smart phones, as they give each of us the opportunity to be connected to ‘our world’ all the time. Our undertaking at Public Leaf is to provide a service for the people living in the Greater Toronto Area; which would serve , connect and share public services via apps, to make our life’s interactions all the more natural.

We recently released an iPhone app known as ‘TDOT 311’. Over the past few months, we have been working closely with the City of Toronto 311 Services to publish an app that would  aid in sending reports on vandal graffiti and potholes directly to the City of Toronto’s 311 system. We need a developer who would support and develop maintenance for this app, as well as work on new upcoming exciting projects. 

We are a growing team; we are looking for people who would love the opportunity to build apps, apps which ‘give back’ to the City of Toronto, strengthening its roots. Public Leaf Inc is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Code in Objective-C primarily and develop features that uses the iPhone SDK, such as in-app purchase and animations.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable technologies for our service platform
  • Collaborate closely with other developers, CTO and Marketing Team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated fluency in a compiled language.
  • Exposure to Objective-C, ideally through some commercial experience (Mac OS X and/or iPhone), a university course, or independent iPhone application development.
  • Excited about working in a fast-moving, high-profile professional software development start-up. You’ll be writing code that will ship within weeks to millions of people.
  • Experience with Objective-C or cocos2d is a plus

‪QUALIFICATIONS:‬

  • Candidates should have a related University degree, 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, 
  • Extensive programming experience, attention to detail, a knack for UI design and implementation, and a strong desire to create high quality software. 
  • They should be diligent, methodical and self-sufficient with a common-sense approach to problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Software design and development
  • Work closely with CTO and Marketing Team on features definitions
  • Trouble-shoot and resolve code problems
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to create interoperable elements of a overall system.
  • Work with other developers, CTO and Marketing Team to develop highly reliable and scalable solutions
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in J2ME/J2SE and Android application performance analysis and tuning, benchmarking and unit testing are desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Demonstrated experience in working with other to solve challenging technical problems related ro performance and usability
  • 2+ years of mobile development experience, with a least 1 years of development experience on the Android.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and releasing Android applications
  • Demonstrated experience in object oriented design and development of applications and systems
  • Ability to work in small collaborative team and have a great passion.
‪QUALIFICATIONS:‬

  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Hands on experience using the Android SDK and NDK
